Ray's Christian Agenda

And it’s clear that the atheists’ aggressive agenda is to remove God’s name
from schools, from currency, from nature programs, and history books, and at the
same time fill movies and television with His name used in blasphemy.

Um. No dipshit. Removing God's name from schools, from currency, history books, (WTF? Nature Programs?) is the work of anybody who believes that everybody is equal and recognize that there is freedom of religion. I mean, I've always figured... You know, go ahead. Teach intelligent design. In fact, make it its own science class. And, to not be hypocritical, teach other religions versions of ID, and teach the opinions of different groups of Christian's on ID. You will soon see it implode itself. Dumbass. Ray, it was people like you who wanted to keep their slaves. Why do you want America to offer special treatment to your belief? Are you that much of a shitface?

All they are doing is storing up wrath, that will be revealed on the day of
wrath. They are like a stunted, blind and crippled flea, shaking his rebellious
little fist at a massive herd of ten thousand wild stampeding elephants. They
had better move out of the way while they still have time.

Yep. God seems to do shit like that a lot. I just wish Ray would take his head out of his ass once a day at least.

  1. It's difficult to really decipher what you are trying to say when your posts are so riddled with profanity... Perhaps science has come up with a pill for that or something...

Here's one you'll all love - maybe I'm just some dumb Creationist, but I've learned how to form sentences without alienating certain members of my audience with words that shouldn't be used in a general audience...

You know, I've just had a thought (limited though you might think that could be) perhaps that's why Flinging Dust has removed herself from your presence...

I realize that what I'm writing right now, could be likened to any one of you mis-using the name of Christ - which, based upon the content of this very post, is not a far flung assertion... BUT...

I'm thinking that Ms. Dust simply didn't want to be associated with people so filled with hatred and rage toward another group of people - and rather than take the next year of her life to try to fight the powers that be, she simply chose to remove herself from the situation...

I know that some of you are truly worried that she's "crossed over" and while I can only speak for myself, I'm sure that I'm not the only person whose been praying that she would see / hear the truth with ears wide open to hearing the voice of God (found in His Word - not some televangelist) humbling herself, repenting of her sins and trusting in Christ for her salvation...

And while I hope and pray that she did just that, I'd be surprised if she did simply grow weary of all of the hate-filled, venomous campaigns against a man who, whether he's as smart as any of you are - has a purpose that helps people, rather than steeps them in blind ignorance...

And while your ignorance is always changing - ours has stayed the same for almost 2,000 years... There's over 25,000 articles of evidence that attest to the fact that the Bible has not changed...

I know that I've allowed the topic to drift a bit within the bounds of my own comment, so I'll wrap up now...

Dirty Words - only make your point appear childish... Flinging Dust - probably just embarrassed by you all and took some time off to gather her thoughts, though I pray she is part of the Body of Christ and that all of your worst fears have been answered - that would just be fun, and God would get the glory, not Ray... And finally, the Bible - True to the Author... Many have tried to do away with it - perhaps you'd like to give it a try - though, it will be around long after you've died and are experiencing your own version of God's Judgment...

whew... Got through a whole comment without mentioning hell - whoops, there it is...

  2. If the world were so divinely perfect as Ray makes it out to be, sure I'd believe there was a god. Unfortunately, anytime anyone brings up any of the million adversities we face, his canned response is "6,000 yrs ago a rib-woman was convinced to eat a cursed apple by a talking snake, and that's why we have cancer." Ya, I think I'm going to have to stick to naturalistic theories on this one, thanks but no thanks.

As far as his "atheist agenda." Xtians are free to have private schools. The currency should be secular. Nature programs? I didn't know there was god in nature programs that we were taking out. I guess we are just doing that good a job. And History? In the sense that I don't want kids being taught that the prosperity of the US being the result of theistic favoritism. But I don't think that you could give any accurate portrayal of history without giving insight into the delusions that nations embraced that lead them to do such irrational things. I don't want god out of history, if anything its some of the best evidence that he doesn't exist.

  4. ^hey thread crasher
whatever the reason FD left, I can assure you it wasn't the fault of Ranting. I can also promise you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that shes not embracing jesus. Furthermore, I feel that it is extremely pompous of you to crash the thread and give wild speculations at to the reasons for her departure. You knew nothing about her or her motivations, move along.

  5. Hey Benny! You know as much about why Flinging Dust disappeared as you know about just about anything else. I love that Christian arrogance.

  6.      Ray's analogy only works if people assume the world we see is a created work. Even if it were, it would be akin to finding the signature of someone known or suspected to remove the signatures of artists and substituting his own.
Oh, yes, I thought I heard some dogs barking.

Sounds good to me, no problem here. RAmen!

    Hey ben, whats up buddy?

  8. Hey Bennie,

No point from me, you have been answered, both with swearing, and with just telling you that you have no idea.

The other thing I would like to clarify. I doubt Ray has any good intentions. Well, sometimes I think he does. However, what keeps me from making my mind about him is his total lack of honesty at admitting his mistakes, and his denial to at the very least LEARN what is it that he opposes. He exposes himself to ridiculing by stating that we believe things we do not believe. His treachery is quite too obvious. You do not see it, we do.

One thing I would be interested to ask you is why you do not see his dishonesty. But I would need to give you an example, and you would have to follow it truthfully. Are you game for the experiment? I promise no cheating whatsoever from my part. No charged arguments, just plainly exchange what ray does to an anti-God satire of some kinda Ray of the opposites.

    G.E.

  9. Oh Bennie, I forgot, I would not try whatsoever to convince you that God does not exist. All I want is to show you why I got all "fired up" when I saw how dishonest Ray is.

  10. I am totally disappointed in this post and the comments following it.

I have to agree with Benjamin.

You did more in this post to give atheists a bad name than Ray Comfort has ever done.

Honestly, who do you expect to reach with this kind of post? I understand you are angry, but this achieves nothing, and only reinforces the stereotypes.

I am really not interested in reading similar posts in the future. I hoped this page would be a place that Ray's reader's might stumble upon to hear thoughtful and logical responses, but instead I find lots of hatred and profanity.

That is fine, you have freedom of speech, and I do not have the right to be offended by your words and neither do they. But that alone does not justify your use of them.

I hope to see more thoughtful responses to Ray's nonsense in the future.

  11. "You did more in this post to give atheists a bad name than Ray Comfort has ever done."

I don't think that would be possible, at least not in one post. Sometimes when people like Ray make such ridiculous and hateful statements devoid of any knowledge one can only ridicule them. It's easier to give more scientific responses when Ray actually attempts to use science or twists science in an argument.

    ReplyDelete
  12. "You did more in this post to give atheists a bad name than Ray Comfort has ever done."

Yes, I may have gotten carried away. But I honestly think this only does our "cause" harm and I have seen a few posts like this here. If there is no thoughtful response to give, why must their be one?

I understand the anger, as I feel it too, but I really think it achieves nothing.

  13. Hey Amiable,

Well, I would not be all for attempting to censor my companions. However, you will find that we are diverse, and that you can find those kinds of arguments you are looking for. Just browse around.

I have to say too that using "profanity" can be helpful, and properly describing. All you need to do, if that offends you, is to try and extract the essence of the argument instead.

    G.E.

  14. G.E you beat me to it, I was going to say something similar :-)
I think some of the personalities on this blog are like that of "the angry pharmacist" which can be quite entertaining. Certain ways of arguing work for some and don't for others.

  15. To classify atheists into a group of people who all believe the same thing, rather than people who just don't do not believe in god- You're no better than the Christians who say atheism is a religion.

Simply acknowledging the fact that your actions will probably represent atheism, whether you agree with that or not, does not amount to calling atheism a religion.

I'm not saying your actions should represent all of us, but they most probably do when a fence-sitter or believer stumbles upon this page and reads your words.

    ReplyDelete
  16. If a fence sitter decides his path because it is directed by the use of language, that is a primitive way of thinking. It's like me being racist towards a particular race because I know a few of them that aren't what I want them to be.

If you accept that way of thinking, fine. I'll be damned if I remain in the Neanderthal way of accepting a certain assumption about a group of people because of one person.

  17. It seems that you insist on missing the point.

If I were a person who was unsure and looking for answers I would definitely be turned off by this attitude. Perhaps you have no interest in appealing to people or communicating any message.

If that is the case, then this blog seems to only serves as a journal to vent your frustrations. I must have been mistaken about its purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes. You have missed its purpose.

We're not out to convert everybody. Rob wouldn't be here if we were.

    ReplyDelete
  19. uhhh...I used convert loosely. I mean to put quotations around it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Amiable, if I were unsure and looking for answers on any subject, I would appreciate being dealt with like an adult and not like a sheltered child.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wee:

I would appreciate being dealt with like an adult and not like a sheltered child.

If this is how adults "deal with" other adults where you are from, would you mind telling me where abouts that is so that I might avoid that place?

I travel a lot, and prefer to be spoken to with respect - not that I deserve it, but it's still a preference I have.

    Thanks.

And to clarify, I want to point out that I was merely suggesting that he swear less - he can obviously use whatever words he'd like to berate another human being - that's his God-given right...

I just don't see (as the Amiable Atheist has said) how that would further the "cause"...

    ReplyDelete
  22. BTW:

In passing, I would like to say that the god rob penn worships is clearly not the God of the Bible - therefore, perhaps you don't have too much converting to do afterall, huh?

It's quite clear that the God of the Bible is definitely in charge... The word you have difficulty with is "sovereign."

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ben, I know you're all about converting people to your beliefs, but why do we have to have an agenda? When can a rant be a rant?

Do we always need a cause? Tell me, what is my cause for this? I obviously did not have one when I wrote it, so... Apparently you seem to know. Is there some ATHEIST DOGMA I adhere to? That everything I say has to be to further the "atheist kingdom"?

In passing, I would like to say that the god rob penn worships is clearly not the God of the Bible - therefore, perhaps you don't have too much converting to do afterall, huh?

    Figures you'd say that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm curious to know, Ben, why is it that Rob Penn's God isn't the one of the bible?
I'm sure Rob would like to know as well.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Benjamin,

We aren't out to convert anybody. What makes you think rob penn is not a Christian?

    you said
"It's quite clear that the God of the Bible is definitely in charge..."

First you would have to present evidence that there is a god and then that your god is more probable than allah or some other god.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Really benjamin,
the God of the Bible you imagine is a very small God. He is a deceptive God, misleading people and condemning them for being mislead. He is a capricious God, errant and repetitive in his mistakes. He is a dictator, blackmailing his children into obeisance. He is vindictive, more interested in passing on guilt by association than in teaching. He is uncommunicative, unwilling to grant questioners dialogue and explanation. He is small-minded, unimaginative and unjust, elevating prejudice to the foundation of his law, psychotically fixated on imposing disproportionate punishment. What is so appealing in worshipping an immature bully?

    ReplyDelete
  27. When it comes to having and agenda - c'mon... You're going to try to convince me that you don't have an agenda when you put together a site like this? When you POST on a site like this? When you attack anyone who would oppose your point of view???

Everything you DO is MIRED in an agenda... Sell your bridge to someone else... You wanna' rant, get a talk show... Dennis Miller did, and that's worked out fine for him so far, though, now he's doing game shows... Sorry Dennis...

    Figures you'd say that.

It's funny to me that you would throw out a left-handed insult toward me for what you believe to be me questioning rob bell's Christianity, when just a couple of posts earlier, you were criticizing one of your own for his understanding of atheism...

You're just critical of everyone, aren't you - including anyone who might be critical of another... Hypocrisy anyone???

Now, with regard to rob penn's god - it is clear that you would simply like to argue over whether or not God exists in the first place... And you've already been faced with that argument, and you flatly reject it - if you'd sincerely like to know, feel free to ask on my blog, and perhaps we'll discuss it there...

Who knows, maybe I'll even make the topic one of my next posts, and you'll all have a place you can come voice your opinions publicly in a Christian forum...

No worries though, you don't have to capitalize Jesus or God, but keep it clean, and please, if you want your comments to be published, try to keep your blogs free from smut...

Again, just a personal request - I'm interested in hashing these points out with you all - I'm simply not willing to custom-build a gateway to pornography for the young adults who read my blog.

I know you understand - you're all reasonable people...

    but felix:

Once again, you get away from the original intent of this blog and resort to railing against God and those who follow the teachings of His Word...

You guys are really bad at following your own rules...

  28. Do you think it would be effective if PZ Meyers just used profanity and personal attacks during his debate with Ray Comfort?

No, it would be highly ineffective.

    ReplyDelete
  29. benjamin,
I don't think I missed this blog's purpose. If anyone else thinks I did, fire away, I'll listen. I was addressing a particular view of God, and I've seen similar opinions to mine expressed even by Christians, and not only here. The blog post this comment thread is under addresses an opinion about God that Ray holds, which is completely in line with this blog's intent, and if I mistakenly assumed you agreed with what he wrote, I sincerely apologize. Risking redundancy, the OP addresses Ray's imaginary view of an atheistic agenda and his enthralled expression of a barely contained fascination with vindictiveness and punishment. Your long comment, the first one here, is addressing the topic in what is at best a half-sentence, instead focusing on generalized profanity and speculations about a contributor's motives for being absent. I might be wrong, but it does seem like you tried to pick an opportunity to merely vent your gleeful enthusiasm for someone's imaginary submission to the worldview you hold, veiling your Schadenfreude about the equally chimerical defection from the ranks of those holding an opposing worldview.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Amen to that Benjamin, why create a blog like this if you dont have an agenda. Who would go this far without an agenda. Why are atheists soooo afraid to admit that they want everyone to be converted to their 'false religion'. Their agenda is to convert people like me (born again Christians)and to continue to lead the blind into more darkness and to do the will of their father the Devil.

    ReplyDelete

Unlike Ray we don't censor our comments, so as long as it's on topic and not spam, fire away.
