I'm Curious....

Does anyone else think Kaitlyn - the new poster at Ray's that claims to be an atheist - might be a sockpuppet?

  1. Hmm. Not sure. She seems too articulate for one of Terry's personalities.

  2. I knew and I will stand by my claim that I kew she was troll of some kind from the first comment (s)he made. It is too obvious....Kinda like Jean.

  3. It's hard to say. Some of her posts don't contradict her atheist stance and then I read this;

'As an atheist, I am often lonely, and I'm often bored. And I do think atheism is partly to blame. I envy Christians who have a church to go to.

But the tone of how that statement sounded seemed condescending. I kind of wish the blog's author didn't rub my loneliness in my face. :/'

It's rather ambiguous. She could be tongue-in-cheek I suppose. It's not a very good job if she is.

Church can lead to a greater sense of community for many people and if she is an ex-Christian she could be missing it. I know a few unbelievers who go to church simply for the social interaction.

I don't she's Terry. Tone is different. All Terry's aliases sound alike.

  4. I believe that Terry would suffer an apoplexy if he was to write "I mean, what would the difference be between a world with a God that did nothing and a world without a God? I don't think we would be able to tell the difference."

  5. I was thinking sockpuppet too. Especially when she said she was looking for an atheist blog and came across "Atheist Central" and the rules of Atheism were dogmatic...

    But then she said
" I personally have an internal conscious guiding me.

I also learn and grow, and from that, I treat others as I would like to be treated."

    and

"Evolutionists have done to science, what hypocrites have done to Christianity."

They both created the foundation for modern biology and medicine?

The second quote is too funny to be Terry.

That is contrived to the max.

  7. Off topic and big chunk of scripture, but as Ray is always going on about the Ten Commandments, has anyone ever asked him if he obeys the Ten Commandments?

    According to Exodus 34:
10 Then the LORD said: "I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the LORD, will do for you. 11 Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 12 Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you. 13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles. [a] 14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

15 "Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices. 16 And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.

17 "Do not make cast idols.

18 "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt.

19 "The first offspring of every womb belongs to me, including all the firstborn males of your livestock, whether from herd or flock. 20 Redeem the firstborn donkey with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem all your firstborn sons.
"No one is to appear before me empty-handed.

21 "Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.

22 "Celebrate the Feast of Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year. 23 Three times a year all your men are to appear before the Sovereign LORD, the God of Israel. 24 I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your territory, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the LORD your God.

25 "Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Feast remain until morning.

26 "Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the LORD your God.
"Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."

27 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel." 28 Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.

How many of the commandments have you broken?

I haven't made any treaties with Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites or Jebusites, so I am ok on the first. I don't cast anything, idols or otherwise, so that's the second covered. I don't know when the feast of unleavened bread is, so God is probably mad with me on that one. I haven't redeemed any donkeys or lambs, but I don't have any to redeem. As he loves the smell of burning flesh, he's probably mad with me for that too. I don't rest on the seventh day, which is a death sentence unfortunately, so he's really mad with me now - especially as I don't appear before him three times a year. If he told me where he was maybe I would bring along a lamb and break its neck to make him happy. Not having offered any blood to him, there is no danger of yeast being involved so he can't get mad with me on that account. He is welcome to a few of the tomatoes growing on my balcony as soon as they are ripe, if he will send me his current address. Fortunately I haven't been cooking young goat.

So I am not doing too badly, but to obey the ten commandments as God spoke them to Moses, I would have to change career.

  8. Maybe a puppet, but not Terry Burton. He couldn't hide the craziness.

  9. Either a really subtle atheist who is playing up the Poe somehow, or a brilliantly smart Christian who is trying to play both sides.

I don't quite know what to make of her, but my ex-girlfriend was a Kaitlyn and that's all I can think when I see her. :-P

I'm so glad you brought it up.

Dale, I think the blog's author was trying to show you compassion. But I think you're coming off as snarky in return. You are a guest on this blog, after all.

    But don't worry. I think you're a good person, and I don't think you're going to hell.

I don't know about this girl.

  11. Milo,

I just came here to quote that, too.

Something about her reluctance to refer to Ray as Ray, her apparent inability to detect the non-atheism of the blog, and repeated "Oh man I wish I was Christian and not a scummy dogmatic atheist" statements make me think that she's Ray Comfort's wife.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm sure she's not Terry. She posted a comment at my blog on my post about how things seem and how things are:

Scientists and rational thinkers have to accept the seemingly absurd despite the patent ridiculousness of these ideas due to our commitment to objectivity and materialism. Conclusions follow the evidence in spite of what makes the most sense to us.

All of science hinges on the absurd because if the Universe made perfect sense to us, there would be no need for science to begin with.

  13. I get the feeling that she is new to the bear pit, and is trying to be polite and reasonable, and see things from other perspectives. She has not yet been driven to the brink of insanity by the Raybots; upon reaching that point she may indeed strap on the gladiatorial garb and leap into the fray, to wreak destruction like an avenging angel (a la dale).

  14. Milo,
    You said:
"I don't know about this girl."

That along with what others have pointed out, including DI and her "absurd" comment, she is definitely sending out mixed signals.

I smell a rat of some kind.

It's kinda like, "I am an "atheist" but just want to point out how absurd "we" are.

  15. Kaitlyn posted that she would prefer to be "kickin it with Satan".

Doesn't sound to me like something Comfort's wife would say, unless there's something about Ray that nobody knows about except his wife.

  16. Given Ray's propensity for lies, I can only imagine that his perfect wife would giggle over the dinner she slaved over for six hours when he suggests she fake atheism!

(I didn't seriously mean Mrs. Comfort, and I still am not sure if Kaitlyn is a fake or someone who doesn't now what she got into. But if she's a fake, I'm betting she's someone who knows Ray.)

  17. Sorry to be so critical, I just wanted to be honest about how I felt. As always, I enjoy reading your perspective on things. Thanks again for keeping your blog always fresh and filled with new content.

Now this has got to be tongue in cheek. Even someone new to Atheist Central could not miss the fact that Ray has not posted a new thought in years. wow...going to keep an eye on this one.

Unlike Ray we don't censor our comments, so as long as it's on topic and not spam, fire away.
