Rejecting claims of religious discrimination and stifling of free expression, U.S. District Judge James Otero of Los Angeles said UC's review committees cited legitimate reasons for rejecting the texts - not because they contained religious viewpoints, but because they omitted important topics in science and history and failed to teach critical thinking.

  1. Since the fundies lost a lot of their political clout in the last three years they are trying to wiggle into the schoolboards, etc like the worms that they are.

It seems like they never even heard of Kitzmiller vs. Dover.

  2. This is a win I didn't expect so clearly. I read about this first at rdnet. They're appealing the decision, but I can't see how they'd be successful against this totally unambiguous ruling.
I only feel sorry for the kids, who never learn to know better until the rejection note comes from uni, and they'll not even understand why.
