Give me one blog ....

I know that y'all have lives outside Raytractors

I know, it's difficult to believe.

But I'd really like it if you could all post (at least)one blog or website that you read and enjoy regularly that:
a: Has nothing in common or to do with Raytractors
b: You think the others here would appreciate

  1. To start it of I give you
Travelling but not in love a blog by a gay English guy who works in Paris and travels a lot. He is funny, a great writer. He lets out little episodes in his very interesting life, written in cliff-hanger style. This young man is single handedly responsible for making me lighten up a whole bunch about homosexuality.

LOL, seriously, though I visit the personal blogs of friends and fellow photobloggers, but other than that, I really don't hang out on the 'net that much.

The only place I go that has nothing to do with Raytractors at all is Reddit.com.

When I am online it's usually to come here or to research something for personal interest or in direct relation to the degree I'm pursuing. And I watch precious little tv, so little that not owning one wouldn't bother me int he least. It's either study or research things.

That's not really what you asked and I just realized I'm pretty damn boring.

  4. Oh, I thought of something....

I don't know how I forgot this! One of my favorite blogs is The Last Psychiatrist. It's written by a psychiatrist with a personality about as warm and fuzzy as a wolverine with a fever. I love it.

  5. Ok, not trying to hijack your thread here but I just want to give one example of why I like The Last Psychiatrist so much. From his entry entitled The Truman Show, which dealt with delusions:

Conspiracy theories provide two very important psychic comforts. First, if someone else is controlling things, then your failures are not entirely your fault. Second, it is a proxy-parent; it is comforting to know that there are powerful individuals closely following, monitoring, and influencing everything. Suddenly, there is no catastrophe that won't be averted; suddenly life has meaning, even if it isn't one you pick.

Personally, I think he not only nailed the psyche of those that engage in a lot of conspiracy theory type thinking, but also what he said could also apply to religious thinking just as well.

    Ok, gonna shut up now.

  11. Right now, I don't think there's another site that I visit (for entertainment) as regularly as this Blog.

I'm a whore for good music videos, however. And by that, I mean good music being played by capable musicians. Solos, bands, live shows - all of it.

So, here's something that y'all should enjoy (even if you don't)

There's no such thing as a fundy atheist.

  14. MFT,

There is no such thing as a fundamentalist atheist for the last freaking time.

That blog you linked to, however, is one of the single most stupid things I have ever seen on the 'net. That has got to be a parody. No one is that stupid.

  15. If you feel a need to annoy yourself with your own ignorance, try this game:

And this is currently my favorite webcomic:

    http://www.partiallyclips.com/

I try not to read The Digital Cuttlefish's blog too often lest I begin writing like him. (Her? It? Nobody knows.)

  16. Hi Wee,

I checked out all three of your links:

    1) I knew about that freakin travel test. I don't get out much. I sucked at it -_-

    2) Today's comic actually made me smile, rather than that internal "Oh, that's amusing...". I think I'll keep an eye on it - thanks :)

    3) I'd run across 'Cuttlefish before, but had forgotten about it. When I started reading through some of his entires, I came across this a bit down the page. It made me laugh out loud (very rare!). You may have seen it, and it wouldn't surprise me if this was familiar to everyone else - but I thought I'd link it here for fun:

  17. a few off the top of my head...

    Boingboing.com
    Fark.com
    Stupidcomics.com
    Randi.org

The last one is not a porn site. It's the site for the James Randi Educational Foundation, a great and worthy organization devoted to skeptical enquiry.
