Ray says:
In a recent political scandal, commentators spoke of a "culture of corruption" surrounding a certain high profile politician. In reference to the fact that he had violated the law, one commentator said, "The line kept moving," and that he seemed to have "lost his moral compass."
That’s the result of the theory of relativity. Mankind has a theory that there is no absolute right and absolute wrong. The strange thing about it is, he is absolutely sure that he’s right when he says that no one can be absolutely sure about anything. The political commentators also said that he thought he was invulnerable. Pride and arrogance are often the bedfellows of corruption.
LMFAO!!! For the love of nothing that is sacred please tell me he is joking.
I also see that Ray is attempting to play Sye Jr. with his 'absolute' bullshit. Verbose philosophical mental masturbation shall ensue I'm sure.

Of course!
ReplyDeleteWhen one is travelling at the speed of light, squared, it is difficult to concentrqate on what is right and wrong.......
wait, can energy think?
Ray has revealed that he is now absolutely an Internet Troll.
ReplyDeleteRay's dimwittedness is nothing new, but there's a nother habit of his that annoys me--being vague when he could be concrete. Name the politician. Name the commentators. Stories with characters are more interesting, so give us some real details.
ReplyDeleteOh, and let's all remember that Ray recently thought that evolutionary theory held that human men and women bred asexually for a long time.
ReplyDeleteWell, you see, it's easier to steal light from something small - like a reading lamp, than it is to steal it from something big - like a black hole. Not sure how this works for adultery though....
ReplyDeleteSeems to be a reference to this:

I actually do think Ray is joking this time. I know that time and time again he manages to surprise us with how monumentally thick he is, but I like to retain a little faith in humanity and think we're slightly less pathetic and evil than Ray keeps telling us we are.
Setting myself up for a fall..? Probably.
My verfication word is 'Plums', UK slang for testicals. This must mean Ray is talking bollocks.
Baldy,
ReplyDeleteHey I learned a new slang!
How does one sign up to be a Raytractor?
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, how are we as a group to distance ourselves from this tool if he keeps giving us so much ammunition?
ReplyDeleteBaldy wrote I actually do think Ray is joking this time
I have a slightly different take on it: he's drumming up book sales. We've all seen how he's been phoning his blog entries in for the last 4 months - his insults and rationalizations have been almost nonsensical.
Jesus never said "Turn off your brains and follow me". Ray thinks differently.
Craig,
ReplyDeleteEmail MacGyver. His email is geekjay@gmail.com.
WEM,
ReplyDeleteGood question. I have mixed feelings about distancing ourselves from Ray. On one hand, we've outgrown him, on the other hand, he needs constant debunking, but then again, I hate going there long enough to read his latest BS so I don't do it as much.
Also, while we are probably giving Ray great advertising at the moment with the name we have, I'll be glad when we move so that we are not using his name in out title to advertise for him even more.

ReplyDeleteI agreed, Nonmagic. As much as I like pointing out how much of a wanker the guy is, we're providing him income.
thanks.

ReplyDelete"Ray, please tell me how Einstein's Theory of Relativity degrades politicians morals. I can't see how that can happen at all."
"Ray... What in the heck are you talking about? "Theory of Relativity?" Really... Are you high?"
"Move over biology, Ray is branching out into being stupid in physics now."
"That’s the result of the theory of relativity. What? Thanks for reminding us that you have absolutely no real comprehension of science in general, and Einstein's work in particular."
Wow. I have to remember who I am dealing with here. Atheists have no sense of humor, and no understanding of parody and word-plays. Lighten up guys. It's a play on words. Some of you are so mad at God you can't see straight. Read it again, slowly. Thanks.
IOW - You are all idiots because I baited you and I am just a stupid internet Troll.
He actually thinks he's been clever, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteIt's like The Boy Who Cried Wolf thinking he's made some profound point because one time the sheep really did get eaten.
Beam,
ReplyDeleteI love how he had to slip in that atheists are mad at god.
I'd like to get Ray drunk and tattoo it on his forehead that atheists aren't mad at something they do not believe exists.
This is an interesting topic.
ReplyDeleteJust how has the theory of relativity helped change or shape modern society? I'm glad Ray brought it up.
I'm actually kind of disappointed that so many people pointed this out to him as if he was seriously suggesting what it looked like he was suggesting.
ReplyDeleteIt plays right into his grubby little hands to bite such obvious bait.
I thought we were smrter than this?
Matt,
ReplyDeleteI think it has less to do with being smart and more to do with poking Ray with the other end of the stick he pokes us with.
Kaitlyn,
ReplyDeleteI really don't think we can have a discussion of any merit about how the theory of relativity helped change or shape modern society until we discover how evolution disproves abortion.
Just how has the theory of relativity helped change or shape modern society?
ReplyDeleteWithout it, the accuracy of modern GPS would make tracking something (via signals sent back and forth between satellite and receiver) almost impossible.
The difference in gravitational forces at the satellite and at the receiver results in differences in how time is experienced at each end. If this were not accounted for, the GPS accuracy would be no better than +/- 7 miles.

ReplyDeleteWould someone please explain the parody found in Ray's post because, as I have no sense of humor, I cannot comprehend it. I read his post slowly and saw no hint of satire. Was it so clever I didn't pick up on it? Is Ray capable of subtlety? I gathered the piece was referring to the situation in Illinois but I saw no wordplay!
Is Ray capable of subtlety?
ReplyDeleteNo.
Humor? No.
Humility? No.
Brittany makes me want to cry.
ReplyDeleteThis is her response to the request that Ray reiterate his stance on where the "6 million murdered Jews" are now residing:
Ray is not God. He does not know who will enter Heaven or who will enter Hell. Yet he does know where he will go. What Ray also knows is that for those, whether it be jew, catholic, Christian, muslim, atheist, whomever, for those who do not accept Christ as their Savior will indeed go to hell.
yeah, but no, but yeah, but yeah, but no
Milo,
ReplyDeleteWOOOSH!!! That's the sound of the point going right over Brittany's head. I honestly wonder sometimes if she could pass a basic reading comprehension exam.
NM, this looks like another example of what I tried to describe in my recent Hypothesis post...
ReplyDeleteI ought to join a club and hit him over the head with it.
ReplyDeleteFitting like the fist to the eye (German proverb):

Felix,
ReplyDeleteWow! How completely perfect!
I meant idiom, not proverb of course.

I am so glad you don't partake of those sins, humility and judgmental attitude, Mark.
"For YHWH takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation." (Psalm 149:4)
"Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:4)
"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (Matthew 23:12)
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Ephesians 4:2)
"But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'" (James 4:6)
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Matthew 7:1-2)
"You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." (Romans 2:1)
"Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God." (1 Corinthians 4:5)
There are of course plenty more where that came from. I expect the followup of well I am not judging them God is judging them. To which I reply:
The words of Jesus according to the Book of John - "You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me." (John 8:15-16)
So if you make the claim, you are making a bolder claim than Jesus.
One more thing from Jesus according to the Book of John:
"As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it" (John 12:47)
