I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post a link so that it works, but you can probably find your way to the page.

Here's a place to critique Ray Comfort without being subject to his rules of censorship. We are a community of mostly atheists and agnostics, but theists are welcome to join. Sign up by emailing MacGyver Jr. - See his profile.
Rufus,
ReplyDeleteHere's how you can post a link:
This:
<A HREF="http://members.aol.com/JesusImages/page2.htm">Jesus - With You Always</A>
...will wind up looking like this:
Jesus - With You Always
The line above is a bit long, but you can cut and paste it into notepad to get a good look at it.
Whoa...kinda creepy. I don't like the idea of Jesus with me every-HOLY SHIT! He's right next to me!
ReplyDeleteWow. That kinda made my day. In a disturbing/hilarious kind of way. Dig the one with Jesus and the golfer...
ReplyDeleteJesus is peeping through your window RIGHT NOW, watching you.
ReplyDeleteI once saw a cartoon. Tha cation read, "Jesus is coming, and he's pissed!"
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is: "Jesus is coming - everyone look busy!"
ReplyDeleteWhere are the ones with with Jesus - With You Always, in Darfur, Rwanda, Auschwitz? I bet Mark W. Laine has a shirt with the insurance agent one on it?
ReplyDeleteWhat's Jesus doing behind the body builder? Holy homoerotica!
ReplyDeleteSomeone at the Happy Heathens group at Library Thing, where I first saw this, noticed that Jesus is usually some distance from the women, but quite close to the men.
ReplyDeleteLets see if this gets posted even.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why my name was put on the front page of this blog kinda funny. I don't cencor anyone so to accuse me of that is just plain wrong. I just ask for the same respect I give to you.
See here is the issue you will agree that morals are not absolute so how can we know who is right and who is wrong? I think atheists use this as an excuse not to have to defend themselves funny actualy they write books and make chalenges but when we go on the defence we must be the ones with the proof and that atheists presuppositions will not let them accept our evidence. So unless you will open your minds and think out of the box we are at a stand still......... And meagan you want that on air debate? I have to be honest so i will keep it fair.
brian, we're not going to delete your comments.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you think we will?
We don't moderate like you and Ray. and we have some theists who come by (Like Patti. Hi Patti.), and one of us IS a theist.
See here is the issue you will agree that morals are not absolute so how can we know who is right and who is wrong?
ReplyDeleteI don't even think your god knows what is right or wrong. He seems to change his mind often. First, he wants us to go "eye for an eye", then says, "Nevermind. Turn the other cheek. Whoops." And, "Ima flood the WORLD! Buahahaha!" to "Whoops. Uhh...here's a rainbow." /sarcasm

Yeah, pretty much like this- You say something exists. Show us. If you cannot, then...?

Explain the opening our minds part.
Brian,

Brian, First:
All We Have, is each other.
We have evolved the ethic of Reciprocity. We have defined our morals in conjunction of our desire to produce viable offspring. I am sure you want your kids to be "better" than you, right?
all the good traits that we find in human beans are survival skills, and they are damn good ones.
I hope that you somehow become a nice little transitional fossil at some point. Hehe. /d
Brian,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that I give you a lot of credit for coming over and mixing it up with this nest of heathens! Good job.
Brian sez:
ReplyDeleteLets see if this gets psted even.
Brian, unlike certain other blogs, we don't feel the need to censor comments just because the poster's viewpoint is different from ours. In fact, I know of only one occasion where comments here were removed, and that is because they contained overt physical threats against another poster.
Regarding the rest of your post, I think I speak for everyone when I request that you try to type in complete sentences and use proper punctuation. Incomprehensibility is no substitute for a cogent argument.
brian,
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting. The thing with the evidence and the 'outside the box' thinking is, can we really trust our own thinking? How do we evaluate if our own thoughts are a valid way to discern truth? That's why we need evidence. We need evidence and we need to share our ideas with others to test them. That's why mankind has developed the scientific method and epistemology. By its fruits, we have concluded that it's the most reliable way to discern truth we have so far. We don't know absolute truth anywhere in science, but we accept explanations that are in accordance with all of the available physical evidence and the results of other fields of science, up until someone finds a better explanation that fulfills these criteria. The problem with untestable ideas is that we can postulate them as explanations as long as we want to, but we cannot make predictions and continue to work with them. Past experience has shown that there's always more to be found, no matter how much we'd like to think we know where the buck stops. Newton thought he'd reached the end point, only to be corrected by Laplace a century later. Sometimes thinking outside the box can be a great way to open new avenues of thought, to discover new fields of science and philosophy - but it doesn't go anywhere if it's disconnected from current knowledge. Pushing the box farther and farther out as knowledge grows doesn't help.
