Seven Words for the "Cuss-o-meter"

This may seem a little off-topic, but this is in regard to the "cuss-o-meter"....I thought of the "seven words" sketch which caused such a hooplah back in the day (which I wasn't around yet). I strongly side with Carlin on this one. I don't think there are any words that should be banned. If you really think about it, it is sort of absurd that we should be protected from a word-knives, yes. I think the less censorship, the better. We have a right to hear things and today I think we are way too sensitive to being "offended". Christianity today has made us ultrasensitive to this. Enjoy.

  1. George Carlin is my fucking hero.

I actually just downloaded like his complete work off of Pirate Bay and I'm in the process of listening to it right now.

As long as we're posting awesomeness, check out his rant on religion.

  2. Oh, I love the guy. He had such the 'oh yeah, fuck you asshole' attitude. I am quickly approaching a similar level of cynicism. I plan on being one of those college professors that tells it how it is (when I get tenure). I am working on a course in skeptical thinking, because I want everyone to be just as cocky and argumentative as myself, and this will give me a chance to filet creationism and all the other stupid shit including our government that pisses me off...channel what irritates me into something productive.

I love all his stuff on religion-particularly the ten commandments. I was thinking I would like to read his books. I really respect the guy. And I really hate people telling me what I can't say.

It's a good thing Ray moderates his shit because I would have told him to fuck himself daily. God I want to debate that asshole!!!

  3. Clos, that's a good idea. The ability to think critically is desperately needed, no less than exposure to the actual evidence.

Oh, and the balls to say things that people don't like to hear.

Unlike Ray we don't censor our comments, so as long as it's on topic and not spam, fire away.
