Intro

"A painting must have a painter!"

The voice peeled out across cyberspace. It was harshened by a  New Zealand twang, but also had the optimistic lilt of an unmolested choir-boy.

I heard the words flow from the screen. He must be a Poe, I thought, but the look on his face didn't seem to say so. It was hard to tell though - that same naive face was obscured by the kind of moustache that had filtered many a cup of holy sacrament.

That mo' spoke with wisdom, like an old-timer at a bar who comments on the game and how he could have played football, if only he hadn't been illegally tripped over in the 14Ds by Charlie McPhee.

He was the only man I heard of who openly admitted to thinking a banana proved an entire religion. His books came forth like a colony of Streptococcae, numerous, mildly offensive and almost exact replicas.

He was Ray and he was not ashamed.

  2. As an afterthought, I'd like to congratulate myself. I've stopped receiving thread updates from Atheist Central.

It's been 9 days, 11 hours and ~24 minutes since I last posted there

I'm skeptical that such a thing exists!

He was Ray and he was not ashamed.

But he damn well should have been.

This was a fine post, Vagon.

  6. @ Kelley

Holy fucking hell. They should be able to do something about those kids... It has to be some form of abuse to discuss anal rape with kids.

    It has to be.

All the kids I talk to about it go mental. Banned from the nursery now and everything.

Pretty much. Also on-topic for your recent post about parents (de)educating their kids.

It'd be more effing insane if it wasn't from Westboro Baptist. They consider their ostracism to be confirmation in their beliefs.

I wonder if, when the fundamentalists who read this blog watch that video and shake their heads disapprovingly, it makes them wonder about the surety of their own beliefs...

  8. Folks, I don't think you know what has just happened.

Vagon, you have written a sonnet, somewhat to perfection. It is a rare bird that can produce a sonnet to that degree of perfection, in my book.

I hope Lance will chime in on this.
The construction of that piece of prose is elaborate, to say the least.

You need to copyrite that and save it, Vagon. Very well done.

Did you intend to write a sonnet? Your meter was awesome.

Please provide evidence for the assertion that fundies will "shake their heads" at this video.

  10. Vagon,

I hate almost to say this, but that was a most well constructed piece of prose that I have ever seen brought forth on a venue like this.

As a sonnet, you grabbed me mis-sentence, and flowed on.

I think that was not done in haste or one draft and I am totally appeciative of your effort.

  11. Please provide evidence

Arg - I just lost it over at Dan's, where Sye is starting his bullshit again.

Even a parody of our favorite Irreducibly Dense presupp makes me want to hurl right now...

  12. Thanks Froggie, no sonnet intended, but I did rewrite it a bit because it didn't sound right the first time. Maybe it was a subconscious sonnet.

Also I keep replacing sacrament with excrement in my head.

    Strange times.

  13. Hahaha sorry Whateverman, I promise no more Sye jokes.

Whatever it was that you did, I hope you do more. That piece had genius written right through it.

My wife is reading it now.

Vagon, please substantiate your claim that WEM needs to provide evidence for the assertion that fundies will "shake their heads" at this video and tell us how you objectively know that you claim is absolutely true.

EWWW !! I can't believe I typed that!!! Spirit of Sye I rebuke you !!!
