Here's just a little quickie. I was listening to a favorite radio show of mine (Ron & Fez) this weekend when they replay stuff from the week. They talked to Shirley Phelps-Roper because Ron likes to egg her on. (And she never catches on that he's doing this)
The part that I found amusing was after she hung up, and I'm probably paraphrasing this here, Ron commented saying "Even if Obama being elected does bring about the apocalypse, he'd only be known as the second worst president in the history of America."

So, who would be the worst?
ReplyDeleteJimmy Carter?
Lyndon B. Johnson?
Herbert Hoover?
Woodrow Wilson?
I've actually been thinking about this quite a bit over the last 3 years (or so).
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, I don't have enough historical perspective to be able to say Dubya outclasses people like Andrew Johnson (re. impeachment), Woodrow Wilson (hardcore racist) or others. And I'm a bit interested in the notion of "unpopularity" as an indicator of "worst".
Yeah, I know the OP was meant to be funny. I certainly consider this asshole to be the worst president in my lifetime (including Nixon).
I'm not at all sympathetic with the people who got him into office and kept him there, however...
