Here's a place to critique Ray Comfort without being subject to his rules of censorship. We are a community of mostly atheists and agnostics, but theists are welcome to join. Sign up by emailing MacGyver Jr. - See his profile.
Why, oh why Lord, did my impure thoughts immediately turn towards Maragon? What shall be my penance? 10 Our Ray Comfort's and three Hail Kirk Cameron's?
ReplyDeleteEven she's impressed!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was Maragon, in her Halloween costume.

ReplyDeleteRead the post and the comments, and if you're invested enough give your opinion. She won't post dissenting comments (usually) but she will read them. Sorry to be so off topic and leave just a link, but I'm completely disgusted, and someone needs to let this woman have it (again.)
That Raani chick is a total nutjob and I feel terribly sorry for her children that are being brainwashed and taught a culture of hate.
ReplyDeleteOn top of it all she participates in draconian style censorship to squash any dissent and give "credibility" to her mad ramblings.
Her nonsense appears to violate Google/Blogger's Content Policy:
HATEFUL CONTENT: Users may not publish material that promotes hate toward groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity.
Rufus,
ReplyDeleteThat IS my Halloweem costume.
And I did used to be a Catholic school girl - short kilt, white blouse, knee socks and all.
Rawr.
Sister mara gone wild.
ReplyDeletePsalm 139:14 reads; "I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works.
RE: baptist home schooler. Holy cow. That goes beyond hate speech. The legal definition might be terroristic threat.
ReplyDeleteI've posted a comment on the blog.
ReplyDeleteI tried to not be obviously critical because I want her to publish it and continue a get a dialogue going. There were a few leading questions about what the origins of 'gayness' are, in her opinion - I'll keep checking back to see if she replies...
When I can't take any more I'm just going to tell her what a fucking cunt she is and how much I hope all her children turn out to be happy, healthy, proud gays and lesbians (transgendered would just be gravy).
Nah, I'm not gonna talk to that idiot, I wouldn't be able to do so politely, and even if I were skillful enough to pretend otherwise - she's not interested in challenging her own opinions.
ReplyDeleteWaste of skin...
whateverman,
ReplyDeleteYou're probably right, I don't really know what I hope to get out of this endeavor; just a sick sense of curiosity, I guess!
Holy shit, the arrogance just drips off this harpy's blog, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteFrom a post about her kid doing karate:
"The object is to push your opponent off of the mat and make him touch the floor. Watch as my son Jonathan, a brand new white belt, quickly defeats a bigger boy who is a brown belt!"
See how brilliant my son is? That's the power of Christ at work.
That Raani is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless...
About the crazy Blog lady:
ReplyDeleteI spent a couple hours backtracking on her blog last night (sheer morbid curiosity) and she is completely horrid. I reported that specific entry to Blogger (sorry, so not a fan of censorship, but whether she's backpedaling now or not, the post advocates terrorism.)
@ expatmatt
She (and everyone sharing her particular brand of fundyism, including her horrible church) believe gayness is "spread" from one gay person to another by sexual abuse, and that ALL gay people (no exceptions) are predators. Incidentally. the reason she advocates the death penalty for homosexuality and wants to see that High School get blown up is they also believe homosexuals can never be "saved": they're all going to hell so may was well speed the journey and protect the normal people.
Ugh... Unbelievable.
I have a chicken or egg question if anyone cares to ponder it. I'm sure it's been asked before but...
ReplyDeleteDo you think people are driven to pschosis by fundamental religion or are psychotic people drawn to fundamentalism because it gives cover to their hateful delusions?
I'm curious to know what people think. I also welcome more boobie talk.
craig,
ReplyDeletewhat about: If you're religious, a psychosis drives you into fundamentalism?
I have more religious than psychotic relatives, but all the psychotic ones are religious.
Part of a psychosis seems to be that you don't know anymore when you should shut up. I'm pretty sure that most my religious relatives oppose homosexuality, but they don't speak about it in public. It's not so damn interesting anyhow what other people do in their bedrooms. The only ones obsessed with that are the psychotic ones.
kelly r,
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought.
Of course, she then has to explain how 'gayness' spread all the way from Sodom to the present day via the genocide at Noah's Flood; one of the dudes on the boat (and they were on that boat for a looong time) must have carried the gay past the flood-waters and into the present age, no? Score another fail in the 'getting-rid-of-sin' score sheet of the Almighty.
I like tying fundies up in knots of their own illogical thinking...I hope her head explodes.
Well, seeing as the bible has the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis chapter 19 and the big washout in chapter 6, I don't think she would have much issue with the spread of "gayness."
ReplyDeleteIs this Maragon's picture? The one that inspired Ray and Vera to start talking stupidity?
ReplyDeleteG.E.
No, that isn't Maragon. This picture would have cause Ray's head to explode. A hot, sexy, nun? All that lust and a false convert?
ReplyDeleteG.E. - Maragon's picture was actually a very innocent pose with the hint of a swelling breast. Unfortunately this inflamed Ray's passion for Christ, and he essentially asked Maragon to get her burka back on.
