Lee L. Mercer, Jr.

I posted a link to Cracked.com's The 6 Most Insane People to ever Run for President. I have to recommend Lee Mercer's website, especially his Reasons for Candidacy. http://www.mercerforpresident2008.com/c14f7f9dd9bbed555232a5cb8defd6f7.html There's a lot to it, but I think it's worth it. I would have voted for him, and I wish he could have won, just for the spectacle. Lee Mercer in 2012!

  1. Argh! I wrote about him a while ago. My favourite bit is where he talks about how the government is ruining his family's sex life using "sex-killing esponiage equipment"...

  2. Damn the Eye Spy Community-Military Intelligence Business and Commerce Intelligence Electronic Surveillance National and International.

  3. Mercer/Palin 2012. Now that would bring the country together. We could just put up rubber walls around the borders. It's difficult to pick a favorite from his Reasons for Candidacy. It's all so batshit, outhouse, chainsaw crazy. I love it. And he looks a lot like Michael Clarke Duncan from The Green Mile and Armageddon.

    Especially the Palin part.

  5. I recently wrote some letter by a right-winger relative of mine about how the reason why white people voted for Obama was out of "white guilt."

I could have been the flippin' slave ship captain and I wouldn't feel guilty enough to vote for THAT guy.

  6. Heh heh. I personally think he's the political equivilent of a Poe, and is just doing it to make a point:

"51. To Prove to you citizens you do not know what and how I am suppose to do for you and what and how I am suppose to do for the United States of America’s Government National and International."

"56. To Prove Jeb Bush is all in my house with disease."

"70. RELIGION PROGRAM TO WORK AMERICA. The program has solved everything in the world such as 1. All the crime 2. The lack of world peace 3. All the poverty 4. All communications 5. All prejudice 6. All phenomenons guaranteed to be true by the United States Army. This is a U.S. Army FBI ROTC religion program. This made all of my Doctor’s degrees."

    Yep, I call Poe.

  7. Actually, MrFreethingers comment was funnier than Lee's site. Gotta love those stereotypes!

  8. It could be some kind of Poe, but I don't want it to be. I want to know that there is someone out there that crazy. I hope Lee Mercer is real.

You already do. You wouldn't be a Raytractor if you didn't.

  10. Reading that link makes my head hurt.
I think it's Kaitlyn with that generator she used previously. Forget where it is (and too lazy/tired to go back to look for it now).

I hadn't read it all the way through, until I saw quasar's extracts of some of the points.. and thought he was kidding!

    Wacko!

  11. In order to run for President, don't you need to have a number of signatures endorsing you first? How many do you need, 5, 200, 2000?

  12. Felix -

The only qualifications I know are:

    1. Be 35 yrs of age (or older)
    2. Be a 'natural born' citizen of the U.S. (definition debated)
    3. Have resided in the U.S. for at least 14 yrs.

  13. Felix and LAOF,

I believe that there are only those few requirements to be eligible to be president, but to have your name appear on the ballot, signatures are required:

  14. "THE DISCIPLINE OF THE US GOVERNMENT RELIGIONS ENFORCEMENT:

There is some concern about the U.S. Government Religions enforcements. I will enforce the U.S. Government Religions enforcement regulating its enforcements itself with its regulations pertaining to itself and according to its enforcements."

Yeah!!! Damn straight, Lee!! I'm all for Religions enforcements, and regulating enforcements itself with its regulations pertaining to itself!! It's clear, people, we voted for the wrong man.

BTW, is this for real? Honestly? Can't be. really?

  15. Clos:

I wonder if it's real. It's so far out there. But I want Lee Mercer to be real. It's so amazing. Before the internet, the only people who might have heard of him were those that knew him personally, worked with him, lived near him. Now I get to enjoy him. I saw somewhere online you can get mugs and key chains and the like. He's great.
