Everyone of every belief system should be able to voice their opinions, regardless of the popularity of said ideas.Maragonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12231231272552028973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4140917903722388348.post-9824123388563391882008-08-03T10:25:00.000-05:002008-08-03T10:25:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Maragonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12231231272552028973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4140917903722388348.post-70096983233568640642008-08-03T09:25:00.000-05:002008-08-03T09:25:00.000-05:00Really.....??Really.....??Mimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03184580454541836684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4140917903722388348.post-36832157656528519742008-08-03T08:42:00.000-05:002008-08-03T08:42:00.000-05:00@jean--Very sad letter....pray that the Lord will ...@jean--

Very sad letter....pray that the Lord will grant you mercy and open your eyes that you may see...

Jean, this is a first amendment issue, not a God issue.

But hey--Thanks for Stopping By!!captain howdyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04965531249778332106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4140917903722388348.post-21662039910447064332008-08-03T08:29:00.000-05:002008-08-03T08:29:00.000-05:00Very sad letter....pray that the Lord will grant y...Very sad letter....pray that the Lord will grant you mercy and open your eyes that you may see...Mimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03184580454541836684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4140917903722388348.post-83219833395338932302008-08-03T07:33:00.000-05:002008-08-03T07:33:00.000-05:00Very nice letter!Very nice letter!Clostridiophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06242245098663362751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4140917903722388348.post-72184062673096040552008-08-03T00:55:00.000-05:002008-08-03T00:55:00.000-05:00nail -> headApparently Patrick feels understand...nail -> head
Apparently Patrick feels understandably offended by the constant disparagement from Christians who believe they can hide behind a prescribed opinion that someone masked as an absolute statement of fact by calling it God's Word. It is a primitive, passive-aggressive, narcissistic and self aggrandising way of thinking, perfectly on par with other religions who worship a book instead of justifying a worldview from their own reason and observation. I understand that this grates on Patrick's nerves, to be constantly surrounded by God-this and Bible-that, laws that exclude people with a more rational worldview from the right to partake in the administration of their own homeland, persistent efforts to undermine the establishment clause and to infiltrate public education and so on. I comprehend the idea that indoctrination of children is a form of abuse by preemptively restricting their critical thinking abilities and crippling their exercise of shaping their own worldview.
It is a very uncomfortable reality that all this takes place. But it is severely misguided to think that limiting the right to public free speech will do anything to solve these problems. It can only lead to a cycle of exorbitant reactions, ultimately purging minority opinions from the public sphere. Precluding any expression of opinion means effectively disbarring all expression of opinion. And that can only backfire. It is the strategy of the tyrant, not of the secularist.felixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00749925395851545703noreply@blogger.com
